Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc2014 Corbans 1902 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 750mL

In true Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc style, flavours showed great intensity early in the season but patience was certainly rewarded with the increase of concentration, complexity and balance as the fruit basked in the Marlborough sunshine. Fermentation is in 100% stainless Steel tanks for approximately 20-25 days at low temperatures to retain the bright aromatics and palate intensity of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

This Sauvignon Blanc displays wonderful herbaceous gooseberry aromatics with a fruity rich palate, great flavour balance and a bright acid structure.

1902 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc leaps out of the glass with layers of fresh citrus, crunchy greens and ripe passion fruit aromatics. Following onto the palate, the full flavour continues to display lime pith and coriander characters on the palate as well as subtle hints of tomato leaf and guava. In true Marlborough style, this wine is crisp, shows bright acidity providing length and freshness to the palate and balancing all the wonderful layers and elements of this Sauvignon Blanc.

Description:

Aromas:
Layers of fresh citrus, crunchy greens and ripe passion fruit aromatics.
Palate:
A fruity rich palate, great flavour balance and a bright acid structure.

Harvest Notes:

Marlborough was sun drenched throughout late spring and summer as the 2014 growing season saw daily temperatures consistently above long term averages, resulting in one of the warmest summers in the last decade. Flowering and fruit set progressed without concern and we knew we were set up for a great harvest. With the warm weather continuing, ripening progressed quickly and harvest commenced earlier than in previous years. In true Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc style, flavours showed great intensity early in the season but patience was certainly rewarded with the increase of concentration, complexity and balance as the fruit basked in the Marlborough sunshine.

Fermentation Notes:

1902 Sauvignon Blanc is machine harvested in the cool temperatures of night and early morning to maintain the fresh vibrant aromatics the variety is famed for. The fruit arrives to the winery and the juice is gently pressed off skins to tank where it is settled and racked. Fermentation is in 100% stainless Steel tanks for approximately 20-25 days at low temperatures to again retain the bright aromatics and palate intensity of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is then blended, stabilised, and filtered ready to bottle and to be enjoyed around NZ.
